Inter-America and the Caribbean
Since the Peace Corps' inception, more than 45,000 Volunteers have served the Americas throughout the Caribbean, Central America, and South America.
The natural resources of this region are amazing -- from rainforests to the Andes Mountains to the Galapagos Islands! Fresh produce is often plentiful, and the climates warm. When natural disaster strikes, though, as with Hurricane Georges in 1998, Peace Corps' partnership with our friends in these countries becomes especially important.
