        The Minerals Management Service (MMS) will conduct a courtesy briefing for reporters to meet Walt Rosenbusch, the new director.

        The briefing is set for Tuesday, October 19, 1999, at 10:00am, in Room 6349.Reporters must call (202) 208-3985 to confirm participation.

        Walt Rosenbusch was sworn in as Director of MMS by the Secretary of the Interior Bruce Babbitt on May 19, 1999. In this capacity, Rosenbusch is responsible for the administration of various programs that ensure the effective management of mineral resources located on the Nation’s Outer Continental Shelf. This includes the exploration, development and production of oil, natural gas, and the collection and distribution of revenues for minerals developed on Federal and American Indian lands.
