MMS Announces Workshop for Indian Oil Valuation Rule

The Department of the Interior’s Minerals Management Service (MMS) will hold a public workshop in Lakewood, Colorado, on February 8, 2000, on the supplementary proposed rule for valuing oil produced from Indian leases. The workshop will be from 9:00a.m. until 3:00p.m. Mountain time, at MMS’s Royalty Management Program, Denver Federal Center, Building 85, Auditorium, Kipling Street (between 6th Avenue and Alameda Parkway), Lakewood, CO, telephone number (303) 231-3585.

The workshop is open to the public without advance reservations. A workshop atmosphere is encouraged with attendees participating in a discussion of the supplementary proposed rule. The MMS published the proposed rule in the Federal Register on January 5, 2000.

MMS is the federal agency that manages the Nation's natural gas, oil and other mineral resources on the OCS, and collects, accounts for and disburses about $4 billion yearly in revenues from offshore federal mineral leases and from onshore mineral leases on federal and Indian lands.
