The DASIS Report:  Heroin - - Changes in How It Is Used

 

 Highlights:

  • Between 1993 and 1998, there was a growing tendency to inhale rather than to inject heroin.
  • Persons who inhaled heroin sought treatment sooner than did those who injected heroin.
  • Heroin inhalers were less likely than injectors to receive methadone treatment.
