Educating Youth About Sleep and Drowsy Driving
Strategy Development Workshop Report
This administrative document captures the results of a
workshop where experts in adolescent sleep medicine, secondary education, and
driver education reviewed current research and education programs related to
sleep, drowsy driving, and teens. The workshop identified education priorities
for future initiatives to reach youth with messages about the need for adequate
sleep and the consequences of sleep deprivation, including performance
impairments and drowsy driving. This National Center on Sleep Disorders
Research publication serves as a planning tool for educational activities
targeting youth. 20 pages.
