Claude McKay was one of the editors of the "Liberator" said the publication may have to be suspended because of lack of funds. He was a Negro from Jamaica, and was not a citizen of the United States. He spent some time in Russia in the early 1920's. and was supposed to have left Russia returning to the United States in 1923, but did not return to the states. McKay wrote several articles for the "Negro World" advocating the extension of "bolshevism" in the United States as a means of obtaining freedom for the Negro.
