Six of FEMA's 28 Urban Search and Rescue task forces will be pre-deployed to the Salt Lake City area during the 2002 Olympic Games. Many of the members of these task forces worked at the World Trade Center and Pentagon disasters. If a disaster event requires FEMA's US&R task forces, FEMA will deploy task forces in support of the efforts of state and local emergency responders to locate victims in collapsed structures.
