Diversity
Internship Program
The
Pacific Region located in Camarillo, California sponsors four student
internships by participating each summer in the U.S. Department of the
Interior's Diversity Internship Program. Each student is selected to
work with a scientific or other MMS professional full time for ten
weeks; interns work with their
assigned mentor to learn about the many
scientific and administrative responsibilities necessary to effectively managing the
Pacific Outer Continental Shelf, and to obtain first-hand practical
experiences connected to the student's major. To view

The 10-week Diversity Internship Program is made possible through a cooperative agreement
between the DOI and various educational organizations, including: the
Minority Access Inc. (MAI),
Student Conservation Association (SCA),
National Association of Equal Opportunity for Higher Education (NAFEO),
the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities
(HACU)
and Haskell Indian Nations
University (HINU).
