Discover Your Opportunities! Before Beginning a FAFSA Filling Out a FAFSA FAFSA Follow-Up

Do you have a PIN yet?

If you do not already have a PIN, we strongly recommend that you apply for one. The U.S. Department of Education requires you to sign all of your financial aid application forms each year that you apply for aid or anytime you make any corrections to your processed application information. You can sign and send us a paper signature page, but it's much faster if you use your PIN to electronically sign your FAFSA or correction. Your PIN does not expire, so it can be used from one year to the next. We strongly recommend you keep your PIN in a secure place and treat it like any other important personal document.

We can communicate with you more quickly if you give us your most current e-mail address. Giving us your most current e-mail address will make receiving a PIN faster. We can generate and send you a PIN notification e-mail with instructions on how to retrieve your PIN electronically on the PIN Web site within 1-3 days. If you do not have an e-mail address, it will take approximately 7-10 days. Once you receive your PIN, you can use your PIN right away to sign your application.

You can apply for a PIN at the Department of Education's PIN Web site by selecting this link.
