All those involved in the cataloging, indexing and digitizing of the Alaska US Fish and Wildlife historical image collection would like to extend gratitude and appreciation to our Librarian, Nancy Tileston, for housing and protecting this visual history of the US Fish and Wildlife Sevice in Alaska. For the last decade Nancy has not only housed but guarded and protected these images from the elements and careless viewers.

These images are like looking through a window to what life was like in Alaska for a Service employee 60 years ago. The collection ranges mostly from the 1940's through the 1970's. Several of our remote refuges will soon be digitizing and placing images here. In the near future we will have images spanning from the beginning of the last century through the 1970's.
