What are the requirements for getting Medicaid?
  Question
What are the requirements for getting Medicaid?
  Answer
To get Medicaid, you must usually be a pregnant woman, a child, a member of a low-income family, or must be aged, blind or disabled. A few states also cover single, healthy adults.

You also must meet state income and resource standards, and certain other requirements.

Finally, you must be a resident of the state, and be a United States citizen or a qualified immigrant. Legal immigrants can also qualify under certain circumstances depending on their date of entry into the country. Illegal aliens cannot qualify, except for emergency care.

To find contact information about Medicaid in your state, please visit http://www.cms.hhs.gov/medicaid/statemap.asp and select your state.
