"The Farm Bill will strengthen the farm economy over the long term. It helps farmer's independence, and preserves the farm way of life for generations. It helps America's farmers, and therefore it helps America." - President Bush, May 13, 2002.

The Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002 (the Farm Bill) created a number of programs for rural America including a grant and loan program to help fund renewable energy and energy efficiency projects in rural America. This program, created in Section 9006 of the Farm Bill, is a 5-year program to help farmers, ranchers and rural small businesses purchase renewable energy systems and make energy efficiency improvements. The purpose of this site is to help you better understand the opportunities for rural America in Farm Bill Section 9006.
