Abstract:
This data set contains Official Protraction Diagram (OPD) images for areas within the Alaska Region. Each OPD depicts the individual blocks and any lines (Submerged Lands Act, Limit of '8(g) Zone', maritime boundaries and/or marine sanctuaries) which occur within that OPD. The newest OPD's were created in Arc/Info and are available in both Adobe 'pdf' format and Arc/Info '.gra' graphics file format. Older OPD's were manually drafted and are only available in '.pdf' format. Purpose:
OPD's and other cadastre information the MMS produces is generated in accordance with 30 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 256.8 to support Federal land ownership and mineral resource management.
Supplemental_Information:
The MMS is making its existing cadastre data available at <http://www.mms.gov/ld/Maps.htm> and on CD-ROM. These data will include digital images of MMS data at the regional, planning area, Official Protraction Diagram (OPD), and Supplemental Official OCS Block Diagram (SOBD) levels and digital spatial data in Arc/Info export or Arc/View shape format at the regional or planning area levels. In order to deal smoothly with the international dateline, positive longitudes like +175 degrees were converted into negative longitudes like –185 degrees.
