18th Annual Research Conference on Children's Mental Health Service Systems Issues Call for Papers

Deadline: October 29, 2004

The Research and Training Center for Children's Mental Health (RTC) is now accepting applications to present at the 18th annual research conference on children's mental health. The national conference, A System of Care for Children's Mental Health: Expanding the Research Base, will be held March 6 - 9, 2005 at the Tampa Marriott Waterside in Tampa, Florida.

RTC is especially interested in proposals addressing research and evaluation related to:

  • System transformation
  • Federally supported systems-of-care initiatives
  • Mechanisms for implementing data-based decision making
  • Evidence-based practices within systems of care
  • The interface between research and policy
  • School-based interventions and educational outcomes
  • Projects representing strong partnerships with family members
  • Collaborative models for juvenile justice, mental health, and child welfare/foster
  • Impact of financing methods and financial policies
  • Prevention and resilience
  • Cultural competency
  • Access to services
Innovative methods presented at prior conferences have been utilized in practice and policy creating a framework of best practices to improve the way communities address the mental health needs of children and their families. This event is designed for researchers, evaluators, administrators, policy makers, advocates, and family members interested in applied practical systems-of-care research.

The annual conference is hosted by the Research and Training Center for Children's Mental Health in Tampa, Florida. The Center is jointly funded by the National Institution Disability and Rehabilitation Research, U.S Department of Education and the Center for Mental Health Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration under grant number H133B990022.
