TUCSCON, AZ April 8, 2004 -- FEMA Region IX Mitigation Director Sally Ziolkowski presents PIMA County representatives with a Pre-Disaster Mitigation Competitive (PDM-C)Grant Award for $93,750 at a press conference. The county matched funds of $31,250 for a total grant award of $125,000 to the community. On hand to receive the award were Pima County Board of Supervisors members Richard Elias and Ray Carroll. Also in attendance was Dennis Douglas, director of the Pima County Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security. The PDM-C Grant Program is a $26 million Presidential initiative that is administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency for pre-disaster mitigation and planning projects.
