INTERNET ADOPTION INFORMATION

The Internet adoption is currently under construction while it is moved to the BLM Server. The next Internet adoption will begin on October 27. Gentled horses from the Riverton Honor Farm and the Mantle Ranch will be available. For more information call (800) 370-3936.

New upgrades to the Internet Adoption site include Proxy Bidding and Build Your Own Gallery Page. This will allow the server to place bids for approved applicants, up to any specified amount.

More halter trained horses are available for in-person adoption on the Colorado Trained Horse Page.

IN PERSON ADOPTION INFORMATION

For information about in-person adoptions throughout the USA, visit the National Wild Horse and Burro Web Page. You can find the nearest in-person adoption by checking the National Adoption Schedule. Please read the Requirements Page before submitting a paper application to your servicing office. Phone numbers for all the BLM adoption offices are listed in the Directory.Call 866-4MUSTANGS to request a paper application to participate in an in-person adoption.

Long Rider Comes to Santa Fe with Two BLM Wild Horses

Santa Fe, NM - Charting a path that covers about 20,000 miles, Gene Glasscock, of the Long Riders Guild, is visiting each state capitol in the lower 48 states by horseback to gain support for a scholarship fund for Paraguayans. Glasscock has already traveled about 10,000 miles. Visiting 30 state capitols so far, Glasscock will be at the New Mexico State Capitol in Santa Fe on Monday, June 28, at 10 a.m.

Wild Horses Win Endurance Racing Awards

America's wild horses have long been praised by their owners for their toughness, intelligence and endurance. Now, two Northern California wild horses, and their owners and riders, have received national recognition from the American Endurance Ride Conference (AERC), the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the National Wild Horse and Burro Foundation for their excellence in endurance competition.

Working Horse Competition & Adoption

Wild horses trained by BLM contractors will be judged during a working horse competition and then offered for adoption at the 2nd Annual Wild Horse and Burro Festival in Rock Spring, WY on July 31. The competition will be held at the Sweetwater Events Complex.

July 9 - Fix It Clinic' and Wild Horse Adoption

The Bureau of Land Management and the Rock Springs Horse Corrals will host a training clinic and a wild horse adoption on July 9, 2004, at the Rock Springs Horse Corrals. Four halter trained horses from the Mantle Training Facility will be available for adoption through verbal competitive bidding, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Mares and their colts can be selected until July 9 by appointment and will be $250 a pair.
