Public Availability Session
to Hear Community's
Health Concerns about Former Amoco Neodesha Refinery Site
Neodesha, Wilson County, Kansas
For Immediate Release: July 10, 2002
The public availability session format allows individual community members to speak privately with an ATSDR representative. The session will be at the W.A. Rankin Memorial Library at 502 Indiana St. in Neodesha from 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Background: ATSDR is the principal federal public health agency involved with hazardous waste issues. ATSDR identifies persons who might be exposed to hazardous substances in their communities, determines whether they have been harmed by their exposure, and recommends actions that need to be taken to safeguard public health in the community.For more information, area residents may call Shawn Blackshear, ATSDR regional representative, in the ATSDR Region VII office in Kansas City at (913) 551-1311, or Youlanda Outin, ATSDR community involvement specialist, at 1-888-422-8737 (toll free).
