International Conference on
|
When: | Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, September 10-12, 2002 |
Where: | Crowne Plaza Ravinia, Atlanta, Georgia |
This conference is being
co-sponsored
by national and international organizations.
An international conference will be hosted in the fall of 2002 by joint efforts of governmental agencies, universities, and industry groups to address the scientific developments and progress made in the toxicology of chemical mixtures.
People are generally exposed to mixtures of chemicals rather than a single chemical. Such exposures occur through various environmental media and through multiple routes of exposure. To evaluate the joint toxicity of such complex exposures, it is essential to develop strategies that will allow integration of experimental and computational methods for a more scientifically credible risk assessment of chemical mixtures.
This conference will address issues pertaining to chemical mixtures research, mixtures health risk assessment, and computational modeling of chemical mixtures, as described below.
The mission of the conference is to advance the science by exchanging
information, stimulating discussions and promoting cooperation among
scientists world-wide. This will lead to better ways to conduct mixture
research, assess risks from exposure to mixtures, and model the
pharmacokinetic / pharmacodynamic of mixtures.
Three main Conference topics will be
Mixtures Research
