Presidential Commission To Release Report on Public Diplomacy


The U.S. Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy will present its 2004 annual report assessing public diplomacy policies and programs September 28, 2004 at 9:00 a.m. in the Harry S Truman building, room 1406. This report follows up on the October 2003 report of the Advisory Group on Public Diplomacy for the Arab and Muslim World, a subcommittee of the Commission.

The U.S. Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy is a bipartisan Presidentially appointed panel created by Congress in 1948 to provide oversight of U.S. Government activities intended to understand, inform and influence foreign publics. The Commission reports its findings and recommendations to the President, the Congress, the Secretary of State and the American people.

Pick-up time for cameras and stills is 8:15 a.m. from the 23rd Street entrance.
Pick-up time for writers is 8:30 a.m. from the 23rd Street entrance. Final access for all media is 8:45 a.m.

Media representatives who plan to attend must present one of the following press credentials: (1) a U.S. Government-issued identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver’s license or passport).
