Illegal Transfer of U.S.-Origin Weapons to Cyprus


Question:   Did Secretary Powell and Greek Foreign Minister Molyviatis discuss in last week's meeting the issue of US-origin Greek weapons transferred illegally to Cyprus?

Answer:   No. The Secretary and the Foreign Minister had discussions about Turkey, the Balkans, and Cyprus along with a few other relevant topics. U.S.-origin arms transferred to Cyprus were not discussed in this meeting.
