OEI Standards/Core Competencies

These documents list the basic standards for conducting an evaluation and the core training requirements for our evaluators.

Quality Standards for Inspections

These standards were developed by OEI and the President's Council on Integrity and Efficiency (PCIE) and are the generally accepted standards by which to conduct Federal OIG evaluations.

Core Competencies

Core Competencies are skills evaluators should strive to master. These competencies explored in this document are divided into seven broad areas: communication, research, analysis, program knowledge, leadership and support, and computer skills. Within each of these areas, competency standards were identified by OEI workgroups representing the varied types of employees within our organization.
