USGS Frequently Asked Questions

Question: Where do I find the number of rows and columns in a digital raster graphic (DRG)?

Answer:

Most software packages will read the TIFF tags and not require the user to get this information. However, the row/column information can be found in the metadata (.fgd) file that accompanies the DRG in paragraph 3.4.1.
