Combatant Commander. U.S. Army Southern Europe Task Force. SETAF is an airborne rapid reaction force and Joint Task Force Headquarters based in Vicenza, Italy. SETAF is ready to respond anywhere within the U.S. European Command's area of responsibility. They have been forward deployed since the 1950s. The U.S. Navy 6th Fleet. The U.S. Sixth Fleet arsenal is vast. It is comprised of over 15,000 Sailors and Marines working both ashore and afloat on roughly 30 naval warships. Many commands are permanently forward deployed to the Mediterranean area, while others deploy to Sixth Fleet for a six month tour. US Marine Corps Forces Europe. COMMARFOREUR, as the U.S. Marine Corps Service component commander for United States Commander in Chief, European Command; Commands all USMC forces assigned to CINC, Advises CINC on the proper use of USMC forces, Conducts employment/redeployment planning and execution of assigned/attached forces, Accomplishes assigned operational missions. Fort Benning Mobilization Station. The Fort Benning Mobilization Station and CONUS Replacement Center (CRC) were activated December 1995 to support OPERATION JOINT ENDEAVOR in the Former Republic of Yugoslavia. Fort Benning has deployed personnel to/from Germany, Italy, Belgium, Macedonia, United Kingdom, Spain, Bosnia, Croatia, Kosovo, Hungary, Saudi Arabia, and Greece. |
