The Structure of the CTN

The structure of the CTN is similar to clinical trial networks on AIDS, cancer, and other medical research challenges being studied at other institutes of the National Institutes of Health. For a description of each group, click on the corresponding box below.

   
   
 

 

 

Steering Committee

While NIDA is a resource of scientific and other expertise and provides administrative oversight of the CTN, it does not assume direction, prime responsibility, or a dominant role in its activity. This framework allows the CTN to be national in scope but anchored on community-level programs -- ultimately accelerating both the pace of treatment research and its application in real-life treatment settings.
