Law enforcement, firefighting, and security services and products may be found within three programs, Security and Law Enforcement Solutions under Schedule 84, the National Wildfire Protection Program, and the 1122 Counterdrug Program.

Security and Law Enforcement Schedules Program - Schedule 84 provides security and law enforcement solutions to the federal and military community.

This schedule has five categories:

  • Marine Craft and Equipment;
  • Firefighting and Rescue Equipment;
  • Alarm and Signal Systems;
  • Special Purpose Clothing; and
  • Law Enforcement and Security Equipment.

Fire Program - Under National Wildfire Program, General Services Administration (GSA) provides wildfire protection equipment and supplies to federal agencies, as well as U.S. Forest Service cooperating organizations, through formal interagency agreements with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

1122 Counterdrug Program - The 1122 Counterdrug Program, developed through Section 1122 of the Fiscal Year 1994 National Defense Authorization Act establishing the authority for state and local governments to purchase law enforcement equipment through federal procurement channels, provided that the equipment is used in the performance of counterdrug activities. The authority for the "1122 Program" resides with the Department of Defense. The U.S. Army, as the Executive Agent of the program, has formed a steering committee, consisting of representatives from the GSA, the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), and the Department of Justice (DOJ). Under the provisions of the statute, GSA is responsible for the development of a catalog, which not only explains the 1122 Program, but also defines those products that may be procured under the program.
