Green Room Work Table
The unusual work table, one of the two flanking the fireplace, has a
hinged lid and sides that open to reveal trays and
small compartments. It may have been designed for fine
sewing or possibly for painting miniatures. The Argand
Lamp, named after its Swiss inventor Aimé Argand, was
ingeniously designed with a tubular wick to burn
brighter and cleaner than other lamps of the late 18th
century.
