The Interim Profile is a licensed method of the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) for assessing organizations maturity level. It is designed to give the improving organization an overview of where it is regarding their improvement efforts without the cost of a full CBA / IPI.

The Interim Profile focuses on the Maturity Questionnaire used in a CBA / IPI, which is administered to a large portion of the organization. The results are formulated to give individual projects an idea of what they need to do to meet their CMM requirements. These individual projects are rolled up into an organizational profile.
