AppFT Operational Notices and Status

Patent Database Load Status:

AppFT has been loaded through the most recent issue date (Thursday of each week).

Patent Database Known Problems/Limitations:

The database servers are capable of processing a fixed number of simultaneous searches. Users attempting to execute a search when this number of searches are already in progress will receive an error message advising that the "Maximum number of users has been reached. Please try again later." Since most searches execute in a matter of two seconds or less, such status is, in effect, real-time, and users should feel free to re-submit their searches immediately.
There is an ongoing problem with jumping to "Next 50 Hits" or to a numeric offset in the Hit List when perusing the results of a search.

Problem/Event History:

23-24 August 2003: AppFT may be unavailable for brief periods during the hours from 2200 to 0100 EDT for the performance of system maintenance.
11 July 2003: AppFT was unavailable to the public from approximately 0300 on 10 July until approximately 0814 on 11 July due to system failure.
10 June 2003: There is an ongoing problem with jumping to "Next 50 Hits" or to a numeric offset in the Hit List when perusing the results of a search. The problem is currently being researched.
