Anna Kindermann currently works under the
Director of the Division of Program Management in the planning, monitoring and direction
of multi-year contracts and grants. In this capacity, Ms. Kindermann oversees the OWH
general use contract which provides technical and logistical support for OWH programs and
activities, and assists in oversight of the National Centers
of Excellence in Women's Health and National Community
Centers of Excellence in Women's Health programs.
Ms. Kindermann joined the Office on Women's Health in the
Department of Health and Human Services in 1996, assisting in the administration of the National Action Plan on Breast Cancer (NAPBC). She
served as coordinator for the NAPBC Steering Committee and administration, overseeing the
Plan's budget and information dissemination activities, and as Project Officer for the
NAPBC core support contract through the Plan's completion in October 2000.
Ms. Kindermann began her career on Capitol Hill in 1990 as
Counsel to the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging, focusing on issues relating to the
Older Americans Act of 1965, advance directives, and guardianship. She joined the
Department of Health and Human Services in 1993 as a Legislative and Policy Analyst for
the Administration on Aging, working on issues related to older women, future retirees and
disability, among others.
Ms. Kindermann received her B.A. in Classics from Connecticut
College and her J.D. from Washington University School of Law, St. Louis, Missouri.
