Most of the information has been provided by a variety of organizations from around the country.

The National Breast Cancer Awareness Month (NBCAM) program began in 1985 to raise awareness of the importance of breast health. Since then, the NBCAM Board has grown from 3 to 17 non-profit national cancer organizations and government agencies to assure that the message of breast cancer awareness reaches millions of women across the nation.
