Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry
Office of Program Operations and Management

Carol Aloisio, Associate Administrator

The Office of Program Operations and Management (OPOM) develops and executes the Agency's budget that includes both Superfund and federal program dollars. These funds support key ATSDR health-related activities, including health assessments, emergency response, surveillance and health studies, toxicological profiles, registries, and health education. OPOM directs about half of its Superfund budget to extramural programs through contracts, grants, and interagency agreements, supporting environmental health programs in state and local health and environmental departments, educational institutions, and other organizations serving public health. In addition to managing ATSDR's budget, OPOM provides management support for the Agency in the areas of information resources management, fiscal management, program evaluation and consultation, travel, procurement, and other administrative services.

In supporting the needs of over 400 employees, OPOM has provided opportunities for employee development through a comprehensive individual development program. All employees are encouraged to participate in planning and training for their professional development. OPOM promotes the development of ATSDR's employees through education, training, and quality work experiences.
