Mr. Martin Regional Commissioner
James F. Martin

"The Chicago Region of the Social Security Administration encompasses the midwestern states of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

Within this 6 state region, we maintain 215 local Field Offices, 9 Disability Determination Service units, 7 Teleservice Centers and a large Processing Service Center to serve the public.

Our Chicago region staff are a highly dedicated group of Federal employees, available to explain the rights and responsibilities which each beneficiary, or potential beneficiary, has under the programs we administer.

Our region processes over 1 million new Social Security claims each year. We service nearly 8 million beneficiaries of Social Security checks receiving $5.5 billion each month, and over 920,000 recipients of Supplemental Security Income checks receiving $345 million each month.

Contact your local office manager if you would like to have someone speak about Social Security issues at a seminar or other meeting.

We look forward to serving you."

James F. Martin
