About
the ONR AwardWeb
Concept: AwardWeb seeks to take advantage
of the World-Wide-Web as an electronic award distribution
medium to expedite the receipt of awards by recipients and
thereby facilitate performance under those actions.
Applicability: AwardWeb is currently available
to Universities, nonprofit organizations, and other entities
receiving Grant Awards from the Office of Naval Research.
It permits these entities to download an electronically signed
replica of the actual award document in read-only format.
Operational Performance: At the time of
award, an ONR internal software application generates an electronic
award which is executed with a facsimile signature in read-only
Portable Document Format (PDF) using the Adobe
Acrobat Reader. This same file is also available as an
Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) data representation for
those activities with Trading Partner Agreements on file with
ONR.
After award, the PDF file is positioned on AwardWeb for
access only by personnel from the recipient organization.
To make notification of award, an email notice is sent to
the person designated by your organization to be the principal
point of contact for receipt of these documents. This is usually
someone from your organization's Business Office or Office
of Sponsored Programs.
The email contains an embedded web site which can be invoked
directly from the email. At the Web site the principal contact
enters a UserID and Password which is assigned by ONR Code
21. If you are an organization which receives awards from
ONR and need to establish or change a central contact point
with access to AwardWeb, please send an email to ONR21@onr.navy.mil
. This email should contain your organization name, address,
telephone number, the name of the person to be given access,
and the email address where you would like email notifications
of awards to be sent.
Once the AwardWeb Site is accessed, the user can download
any current awards or previous awards which are retained in
an archive file on the site for 6 months. If you download
a new award, please check the acknowledgement block so that
we know you have successful retrieved the document. It is
emphasized that the Acknowledgement Block does not convey
acceptance of all Terms and Conditions contained in the award.
If there are any issues with the award, please contact the
Contract/Grant Awarding Officer listed on the document immediately.
For those organizations already registered for AwardWeb, you
