Ship Office (Code 33x)

This office provides the Department of the Navy's shipbuilding
programs with development and demonstration of science and
technology necessary to induce a revolution in the design,
construction and operation of naval ships. Responsibilities
include the design, construction and testing of both small
and large-scale vehicles and technical prototypes that embody
advanced ship concepts. Additionally, this office establishes
and maintains effective liaison with ship acquisition Program
Executive Offices (PEO) and Naval Sea Systems technical offices
to facilitate transition of science and technology products.
