cancerTrials is NCI's comprehensive clinical trials site, providing access to NCI's clinical trials database, news about cancer research, and resources for patients and health professionals about participating in clinical trials.


Cancer Information Service (CIS)

Provides the latest, most accurate cancer information. In the U.S., you can call the CIS between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. local time, Monday through Friday at 1-800-4-CANCER (1-800-422-6237).

Ethnic and Minority Health
The health and welfare of minority groups, ethnic populations, the elderly and the medically underserved are important issues to the NCI. The Office of Special Populations Research coordinates the Institutes efforts in this area.

The Cancer Mortality Maps & Graphs Web Site provides interactive maps, graphs (which are accessible to the blind and visually-impaired), text, tables and figures showing geographic patterns and time trends of cancer death rates for the time period 1950-1994 for more than 40 cancers

Progress Review Groups
NCI undertakes a variety of efforts to assess and evaluate programs and projects within the Insititute's portfolio of supported research. The Progress Review Groups are charged with developing a national disease-specific research agenda to accelerate progress in cancer research.

The Office of Cancer Complementary and Alternative Medicine
OCCAM was established in October 1998 to coordinate and enhance the activities of the NCI in the arena of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM).
