Job Opportunities
More than 23 million jobs -- 17 percent of the civilian workforce -- are
involved in some facet of American agriculture, making it the
Nation's largest employer. The Risk Management Agency's (RMA's) job
is to help ensure that farmers, on whom all this depends, have
the financial tools necessary to manage their agricultural risks.
In 2003, we provided farmers over $40 billion in coverage through
nearly 1.3 million policies sold by about 15,000 agents and 14 insurance
companies.
