The date-time stamp in the corner of the earthquake maps gives the time at which that map was last updated in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). Local times listed above are the time of the latest update for time zones spanned by these maps. All maps containing earthquakes are updated once an hour on the hour, but when a new earthquake occurs, only maps displaying the new event are updated. Thus it is possible that some of the maps (10-degree and 2-degree maps) will have time stamps older than the times listed here, but they should never be more than one hour older.
