Assistant Secretary of Enforcement

The Assistant Secretary of Enforcement reports to the Under Secretary of Enforcement. The Assistant Secretary represents Treasury in a variety of fora, including providing testimony at Congressional hearings and briefings, and in media interviews. The Assistant Secretary of Enforcement also assists with the coordination and development of policies, and monitors activities of the Treasury law enforcement bureaus.

The Assistant Secretary supervises the Deputy Assistant Secretary (Money Laundering/Financial Crimes), the Deputy Assistant Secretary (Regulatory, Tariff & Trade Enforcement), the Deputy Assistant Secretary (Terrorism & Violent Crime), and the Director of the Office of Foreign Assets Control. The Assistant Secretary (Enforcement) assists the Under Secretary of Enforcement in the supervision and oversight of the activities of Treasury's law enforcement bureaus: the United States Customs Service, the United States Secret Service, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, and the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. The Assistant Secretary also assists the Under Secretary who conducts policy coordination with the Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation.
