The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is providing an
opportunity for tribal members who have emergency management responsibilities.
FEMA training staff, in conjunction with representatives from
the tribal nations, have developed a course called, Emergency
Management Framework for Tribal Governments (E580).
The course includes many activities that will help participants
build a framework for an emergency operations plan for their tribal
community and a list of actions to help make the plan a reality.
The course is offered August 4-8, 2003
at FEMAs Emergency Management Institute in Emmitsberg, Maryland.
All instruction course materials, and housing are provided at
no cost. FEMA will also reimburse participants for a 21-day pre-purchased
nonrefundable ticket for transportation (more details available).
Participants are responsible for purchasing an on-campus meal
ticket for $80 per week (all meals included).
To enroll in the course, contact the National Emergency Training
Center Office at (301) 447-1035. For more information visit: http://www.fema.gov/tribal/framework.shtm.
