Technology Description:

This invention is a biological and environmental way to control insect pests. The invention uses the pathogenic nematode Steinernema as the active agent. The technology is an effective biopesticide for the control of insects particularly the corn earworm, Helicoverpa zea, and the fall armyworm, Spodoptera frugiperda. This nematode has been identified as Steinernema riobravis. The invention containing the pathogenic nematode can be applied to fields in a pellet formulation, or as a liquid spray.
