Abstract:
The invention relates to a device for repelling target animals from a body of water using electroshock. The
target animal may be a bird, fish, reptile or mammal and the body of water is the conducting medium used to
administer shocks to the target animal. The device comprises a detector and a plurality of electrodes and a
simple logic circuit which will activate the electrodes responsive to detection of the target animal in a watched
body of water. The device is designed to be portable, inexpensive and use very little electricity so as to operate
from batteries and solar power. The detector may be an infrared detector, photocells and a light beam, a tilt
switch, proximity switches or vibration sensors depending upon the target animal. The voltage supplied to the
electrodes is variable depending upon voltage needed to repel the target animal without physiological harm.
The device may be used to protect water fowl from predators or rice patties from water fowl depending upon the
needs of the user.
