The invention also contains an exit, allowing treated insects to be released into the environment. The biological control may use microorganisms as insect pathogens, bio-predators, weed pathogens, active microbial cultures, spores, herbicides or markers for population monitoring. Treated insects include any flying or crawling insect such as flies, moths, bees, beetles or roaches. The invention has proved highly effective in field trials.
