Technology Description:

This invention provides for a coupling agent which has hydroxymethylated resorcinol as an active ingredient, enabling commercial thermosetting wood adhesives to develop strong and durable bonds to a variety of untreated and preservative-treated woods. The resulting bonds are able to withstand delaminating stresses that occur with weather and water in extreme environments.
