Abstract:
The invention uses biodegradable starch as a base material in the manufacture of products such as, disposable dishes, utensils, bags and diapers. The invention involves a way to coat starch-based articles with biodegradable polyesters films. Adherence to the starch substrate is enhanced by an intervening layer of natural resin, which is applied by spraying an alcoholic solution of shellac or rosin.
