Abstract:
The invention is a new way to determine the originating geographic location of a displaced soil sample. The invention can be used as a tool to identify pollution sources of soil origin. This is achieved by obtaining a biological profile of the soil sample, and determining the originating location of the sample by comparing its biological profile to a database that is made up of data sets which relate biological profiles and geographic locations of soil samples.
