Summary

The National Cancer Institute Cooperative Group Program supports groups of researchers, cancer centers, and community physicians across the country and in Canada and Europe. The Cooperative Groups conduct large, Phase III clinical trials at many sites around the country. In addition, Cooperative Group researchers run smaller Phase I and II clinical trials, as well as cancer control and prevention trials.

This guide provides annotated links to the Cooperative Groups' Web sites. Many of the Web sites may have password-protected areas restricted to group members

All clinical trials conducted by the Cooperative Groups are listed in NCI's clinical trials database, PDQ. To search for trials sponsored by one or more of the groups, use the Lead Organization or Cooperative Group field at the bottom of PDQ's advanced search form to either type in the name of a group or use a browse list to look up group names alphabetically.

If you know the official ID number of a specific Cooperative Group trial, you can search for that trial's protocol in the NCI trials database by using the Protocol ID Number field on the advanced search form. (Many of the Cooperative Groups' Web sites provide protocol ID numbers for their trials.)

The Cancer Information Service (1-800-4-CANCER) can also provide contact and eligibility information for all Cooperative Group clinical trials.
