October 6, 2004 July Transportation Services Index (TSI): Combined Index and Passenger Index at New Highs
The Transportation Services Index (TSI) reached the highest level in the 14-year period covered by the index with a 0.4 percent rise in July, and the Passenger TSI rose 0.8 percent to reach an all-time high, exceeding the pre-September 2001 high by the largest margin so far, the Department of Transportation's Bureau of Transportation Statistics reported today.

The U.S. Department of Transportation's (DOT) Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) tracks the on-time performance of domestic flights operated by large air carriers. Summary information on the number of on-time, delayed, canceled and diverted flights appears in DOT's monthly Air Travel Consumer Report, published about 30 days after the month's end, as well as in summary tables posted on this website. BTS began collecting details on the causes of flight delays in June 2003. Summary statistics and raw data are made available to the public at the time the Air Travel Consumer Report is released.

April 12, 2004 Transportation Statistics Annual Report - October 2003
The Transportation Statistics Annual Report (TSAR) provides an overview of U.S. transportation issues. Each TSAR has two essential components: a review of the state of transportation statistics with recommendations for improvements and a presentation of the data and with analysis of many aspects of the transportation system: how the system is used, how well it works, how it affects people and the economy, and how it relates to energy use and environmental impacts. TSAR is a Congressionally mandated publication with wide distribution.
April 12, 2004 Geospatial One-Stop E-Gov Initiative

The U.S. Department of Transportation's (DOT) Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) tracks the on-time performance of domestic flights operated by large air carriers. Summary information on the number of on-time, delayed, canceled and diverted flights appears in DOT's monthly Air Travel Consumer Report, published about 30 days after the month's end, as well as in summary tables posted on this website. BTS began collecting details on the causes of flight delays in June 2003. Summary statistics and raw data are made available to the public at the time the Air Travel Consumer Report is released.

CTPP is a cooperative effort between American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO), State Departments of Transportation, U.S. Census Bureau, Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS), Federal Transit Administration (FTA), and Transportation Research Board (TRB). CTPP 2000 is a special tabulation of responses from households completing the Census long form. Part I - Place of Residence (Final) and Part II - Place of Work (Preliminary) data are now available for download with data documentation and relevant SAS programs.

The U.S. Department of Transportation's Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) today reported, in a release of preliminary data, that U.S. airlines carried 49.3 million domestic passengers in December, 1.2 percent less than in December 2002.

The Transportation Services Index (TSI) reached the highest level in the 14-year period covered by the index with a 1.0 percent rise in December, the Department of Transportation's Bureau of Transportation Statistics reported today in the first monthly release of the new index. The increase was the fourth consecutive monthly increase following a July to August decrease.
