Command
seeks industry comments for portal
Vendors
will have the opportunity to comment on what U.S. Joint Forces
Command thinks it needs for its enterprise portal solution.
(NORFOLK,
VA -- Oct. 8, 2004) - Industry will have the chance to help
impact U.S. Joint Forces Command's (USJFCOM) request for an
enterprise portal solution.
The
Philadelphia Division of FISC Norfolk's Contracts Department
posted a notice
to the FEDBIZOPPS
Web site seeking industry comment on a draft specification
for USJFCOM's enterprise portal capability.
Intended
to provide USJFCOM with a unified web presence and standardized
knowledge management functionality, the notice states the
command desires the portal's architecture design to minimize
both cost and duplication of effort and capability across
the command's many directorates.
Additionally,
the notice indicates the portal "will streamline legacy
applications and provide the standard environment for all
future web development initiatives."
In the
body of the notice, government officials ask industry to answer
a series of questions designed to improve the quality of the
ultimate portal procurement.
To
read the questions and the rest of the request including draft
portal requirements, please click here
or search the FEDBIZOPS Web site for solicitation N00140-05-R-0116.
