NTSB TO IMPROVE EMAIL SUBSCRIPTION SERVICE

Washington D.C. - The National Transportation Safety Board will convert to a new email subscription service for media releases and safety recommendations, effective May 1, 2003. “The new email system will improve service to our subscribers by providing media releases in a more timely and efficient manner,” said NTSB Chairman Ellen Engleman. “Under the new system, media releases and safety recommendations will no longer require separate registration.”

Subscribers to the current service should re-register their email address for the new system. Subscribers must re-register no later than April 30, 2003 in order to ensure continued service. New subscribers are also welcome to take this opportunity to sign up for the email service.

Like the old system, subscribers will continue to have the option of individually selecting the transportation mode(s) for which they wish to receive information. Please note that users who subscribe to multiple lists may receive multiple copies of the same NTSB email when information is disseminated to more than one modal list.

Those who wish to receive all media releases, safety recommendations, and announcements put out by the Safety Board should subscribe only to the “NTSB News” list. Subscribers to the “NTSB News” list will not be able to subscribe to individual modal lists.

Please note that there will be a 30-day transition, starting April 1, during which notices will be sent from both systems. To avoid receiving duplicate emails during this time, users may access the old email subscription service from the above link and select the “unsubscribe” options to cancel their email subscriptions under the old service.
