Summary:Ronald Hatch, an FAA Air Traffic Controller at Logan International Airport was found guilty following a trial in U.S. District Court in Boston of charges of making false statements on his Airmen Medical Certification. To remain certified for his job, Hatch was required to provide his employer an annual airmen medical certificate in which he was required to report any past criminal convictions. After an arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol in March 2003 (his fourth offense), a review of Hatch’s personnel file found that he had failed to disclose past arrests, criminal convictions, and driver’s license suspensions related to driving under the influence of alcohol. Hatch will be sentenced on August 11, 2004.
